The mountains around Briançon don't stay quiet on your wedding day. They change with the light, shift with the clouds, open and close around you like something alive. No venue can replicate that. No decoration can compete.

Whether you've known this valley all your life or you've never set foot in France before — when you arrive here on the day of your wedding, something settles. The scale of the place does something to people. It makes the small things feel small, and the important things feel exactly as large as they should.

I've photographed weddings in these mountains for over ten years. I know the light that falls on Briançon's fortified walls in the late afternoon. I know the ridge above the valley where the ceremony feels like it belongs to no one and everyone at once. I know how to be present without being seen — and how to find the moments that happen when nobody is looking.
